My Dream House

Our assignment for this project was to design, create, and animate our dream house on Google Sketch Up.  Overall, I felt that this project went very well for me.  I learned a lot about Sketch Up, such as how it works, and how to get things to look the way I want them to.  At first it was hard for me to work in 3D.  I had some trouble getting things in the dimensions I wanted them, but the more I worked on the program the easier it became.
I started the project by finding a house plan to base it off of, and then I began to create my house.  I began with the basics, building my house up from a rectangle, creating the roof, then slowly adding more detail and architecture.  Next time, I will plan my project better from the beginning so I don't have to start over multiple times, and I will focus more on the smaller details of my project.  I will still use the same techniques I learned in this project, including pulling/pushing shapes, components, and other methods of designing and detailing. Overall, I enjoyed creating my house and I feel that it turned out well.

My Keynote Animation

My first keynote animation was about a fish that was trying to get food.  He faces many obstacles along the way, including another fish trying to take his food, and his food falling to the ground before he can get to it. In the end of the animation, he finally gets food, and then eats the bully fish for revenge.  My overall scope of the project was that it was fun to create the images and story on keynote, and I'd like to be able to go into more detail and explore more options with animation.  I first thought of the idea of the fish searching for food, and then started by storyboarding it and transferring it to keynote.  I took my time on the first slide, making sure the background was exactly how I wanted it.  I then progressed the plot of my story as I went, adding plot elements and details in the animation.  I learned a lot about keynote, such as how to make shapes look the way I want to, and how to duplicate slides.  I also learned how to work fast and efficiently in order to get the project done on time.  Next time I will take my time to make the animation a little less choppy, but I will try to keep my creative ideas and storyline.  This project taught me the basics of animation and how to make things look the way I want them to.
